About the Property

Yilgarnia Wines & Wildflowers is located in the Denmark Region on the South Coast of Western Australia. Yilgarnia is the geological name for a region of Western Australia formed more than a 2 billion years ago.

The property is more specifically located on the Hay River, 6 km north of
Wilson Inlet. The town of Denmark is found on the shores of Wilson Inlet,
which run approx 15 km to the east, and 5 km south of the town.
Two major river systems discharge into Wilson Inlet, which in turn flows
to the Southern Ocean.

The Vineyard has a north-facing slope, with views of the Hay River Valley,
Wilson Inlet and the hills surrounding Denmark. The immediate outlook
on the farm is across a flat of grazing cattle.

Yilgarnia is one of only 5 vineyards from the Denmark region to be listed
in the 7th edition of the James Halliday Wine Atlas. This is a remarkable achievement given that this is only the 7th edition in 36 odd years by
Australia's premium wine writer.
